Neil Patrick Harris visits Democracy Prep

Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris visited two Democracy Prep schools in Harlem this week to watch the young scholars of the DPPS Arts program rehearse for their upcoming Spring musicals.

Neil’s first stop was at Democracy Prep Endurance Middle School, where he watched the cast of Hairspray Jr. perform several songs and sat down with the middle school students for an intimate Q&A.

He then made his way to Democracy Prep Harlem High School to sit in on on a rehearsal of Aida. He gave notes to the high school cast and had a healthy discussion about what it’s like to pursue a career in the performing arts.
